Mashiko Pottery and Strawberry-Picking Tour

Experience culture, art, and nature's bounty

Mashiko Town is famous for Mashiko ware and is home to about 250 potters and ceramic stores. There are several sightseeing spots, cultural assets, and local products in town, which welcomes around two million tourists annually. Also, Tochigi Prefecture is the top producer of strawberries in Japan. The Tochiotome brand cultivated in Tochigi has become the most popular type sold in the domestic market. The large fruit has a richly sweet taste that's a little tart and glossy skin. Participants can experience making pottery and strawberry picking on this tour.

Check Point

An electric potter's wheel will be used at the workshop to make one-of-a-kind pieces. The pottery will be delivered two months after the workshop at the latest.

Enjoy the taste of sweet Tochiotome strawberries, which make an ideal dessert after lunch. There will be tips on how to taste the berries during the picking.
