2. Utsunomiya Minmin Honten

A famous shop supported by the locals for many years that is adding to the popularity of Utsunomiya gyoza. Their gyoza, which the shop sought to give a simple flavor that you wouldn’t get bored of while eating, is known for its lightly seasoned and delicious flavor with Chinese cabbage as the main filling.
3. Koran Honten
Address: Utsunomiya, Honcho 1-24
This shop specializes in a vegetable-heavy filling made up of mainly cabbage and a thick, springy dumpling skin. Their two most popular items are their pan-fried gyoza, made fragrant with sesame oil, and deep-fried gyoza made by frying freshly wrapped dumplings that result in a crispy outside and bouncy inside.
4. Menmen
Address: Utsunomiya, Futaaramachi 5-11
When it comes to hanetsuki (wing) gyoza in Utsunomiya, this shop comes to mind! The filling is fully seasoned, making for a delicious bite without adding anything else. The combination of chicken broth and Shaoxing wine in the filling makes the dumpling overflow with meat juices.
