Clean Park Mobara
You can tour three facilities: “The incineration waste treatment plant” which has the largest waste generation capacity and waste power generation in the prefecture, “The recycle plaza” which separates recyclable materials such as bottles and cans, and “The Environmental Learning Center” where you can learn about various environmental topics.
We offer this facility tours to help people understand how household waste is processed and to encourage them to think about environmental issues such as waste sorting, waste reduction, food loss, and global warming.
In addition, the Haga-Utsunomiya LRT, which runs on 100% locally generated renewable energy, is powered by biomass power generation from the incineration of household waste and other materials at Clean Park Mobara, as household solar power generation and other sources.
Please note: From May to October, school tours for elementary school social studies classes will be prioritized.
▶Incinerated ash is melted at high temperatures to create harmless and safe slag, which is then used in road asphalt. (This helps extend the lifespan of final disposal sites.)
▶In the generator room, you can see the amount of biomass electricity being generated in real time.
▶You can get a close-up look at the powerful waste crane as it mixes the garbage.
▶You can learn about environmental topics such as waste reduction and sorting through the tour.
