Nikko Monkey Performance
Watch, laugh, and be amazed!
Experience the traditional Japanese art of monkey performance.
The famous monkey act once known throughout Japan as the "Taro and Jiro Show" became a nationwide television sensation, with their iconic "apology pose" capturing the hearts of audiences.
Monkey performance is a traditional Japanese performing art with a history spanning hundreds of years. Although the tradition nearly disappeared after World War II, it was revived in the late 1970s by the legendary duo Taro and Jiro. Their unique partnership—combining Taro's humorous storytelling with Jiro's clever and entertaining performances—introduced this cultural tradition to a new generation.
Since 2015, the NIKKO SARUGUNDAN has continued this legacy by training the next generation of monkey performers and preserving this important cultural art form. Through their lively and heartwarming performances, they aim to bring smiles and laughter to audiences of all ages from around the world.
Perfect for international events, the performance offers a unique opportunity to experience a piece of Japan's traditional culture in an entertaining and unforgettable way.
